The divorce between popular US singer Ariana Grande and her husband Dalton Gomez has been finalized after nearly three years of marriage.
The 30-year-old pop star and the 28-year-old real estate broker had their split confirmed by a Los Angeles Superior Court judgment on Tuesday.
Grande will be making a one-time payment of $1.25 million to Gomez as part of their settlement agreement.
Gomez will receive half of the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home. Grande has also agreed to pay up to $25,000 towards Gomez’s legal fees and there will be no future alimony payments.
The couple’s relationship started in January 2020, just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and they tied the knot in a small ceremony at Grande’s home in Montecito, California, in May 2021. However, they separated over a year ago with no children, which allowed for a quick and relatively hassle-free divorce process.
Gomez, who has been working in the luxury real estate market for a decade, was raised in southern California. He and Grande first went public with their relationship in February 2020 and got engaged in December of that year.
Following the divorce, Grande released her seventh studio album titled “Eternal Sunshine” in March and is set to star in the film adaptation of the musical “Wicked” as the good witch Glinda. The film, which also features Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, is scheduled for release in November.
Despite the high-profile nature of their relationship and divorce, both Grande and Gomez have moved forward with their respective careers and projects.
