Berekum Chelsea secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Karela United on Sunday during match week 19 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
The first half ended in a stalemate at the Golden City Park, but Berekum Chelsea found their rhythm in the second half, netting three goals to bounce back from their previous defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars.
Following this win, Berekum Chelsea climbed to fifth place with 30 points, having started the day in seventh place. On the other hand, Karela United slipped from 14th to 15th place with 20 points.
Mezack Afriyie broke the deadlock for the home team just four minutes after the halftime break, before adding a second goal in the 67th minute to extend Berekum Chelsea’s lead.
Kusi Pandrous put the icing on the cake for Berekum Chelsea with a third goal during added time, sealing the victory for his team.
Next up, Berekum Chelsea will face Accra Lions away on Wednesday, March 6 in match week 20 of the Ghana Premier League.
Meanwhile, Karela United will welcome Asante Kotoko at the Naa Sherigaa Sports Complex in Nalerigu on the same day.
