Black Queens forward Dorsi Boaduwaa expresses gratitude to her teammates for their impressive performance against Zambia, despite falling short of qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games.
In a closely contested match, the senior women’s national team suffered a narrow defeat to the Copper Queens in the qualifiers.
Having lost 1-0 in the first leg in Accra and then drawing 3-3 in the reverse fixture in Ndola, the Black Queens faced a tough challenge against Zambia.
Although the team gave their all, they were unable to secure a spot in the Olympic Games, as Zambia advanced to the next round with a 4-3 aggregate score.
“Even though the outcome was not what we had hoped for, I am proud of the team’s collective efforts. I want to thank everyone for their unwavering support. We are excited about creating more unforgettable moments with you in the future,” she wrote on X after the match.
With their focus now shifting to the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco later this year, the Black Queens are determined to make a strong showing in the competition.
