Adam Sandler, a legendary comedian and actor, recently confessed that he gets nervous whenever he is around global superstar Taylor Swift.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, Sandler and host Conan O’Brien discussed how newer celebrities do not have the same effect on them as the stars they idolized growing up.
Sandler admitted that while he typically remains calm around big stars, Taylor Swift is an exception. He shared, “You know what — Taylor Swift. Because what she means to my kids, I get a little jumpy. Just ’cause I don’t wanna blow it for my kids. So I’m a little like ‘Taylor, Taylor,’ like I talk a little too loud or something. I don’t stay as cool as I can.”
Conan agreed, acknowledging that Taylor Swift is on a whole other level of stardom. Sandler even likened her massive popularity to the Beatlemania of the 1960s, praising her numerous smash hits and the influence she has on his kids.
Despite his own fame for his stand-up comedy, iconic characters on Saturday Night Live, and lovable yet comical roles in films like Grown Ups and Happy Gilmore, Sandler remains starstruck by Taylor Swift. He has been seen supporting her during her Eras Tour with his daughters and attending her shows, including the premiere of The Eras Tour: The Movie.
Sandler’s humility and genuine admiration for Swift’s talent show that even iconic stars can get starstruck by other celebrities. Ultimately, his candid admission about feeling nervous around Swift further humanizes the Hollywood icon.
