The Black Queens coach, Nora Hauptle, has expressed her team’s approach to their upcoming match against Zambia in Ndola as one focused on ‘stabilizing the game’.
In the first leg tie at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday, Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat, leaving them in a position where they need to secure a victory on aggregate to progress to the final round of the qualifiers.
Reflecting on the previous match, Nora Hauptle stated, “We lost the game 1-0 in Accra, but we displayed a good performance on the pitch. The statistics were in our favor, and we felt we deserved a better outcome. However, that’s how football goes sometimes. We have now traveled to Zambia and have been warmly welcomed in this beautiful country. The people have been friendly, and we have had productive training sessions. We are looking forward to playing in a packed stadium tomorrow.”
She continued, “I hope for a good football game tomorrow evening for us. We have plans in place to approach the match by stabilizing our game, with the awareness that we need to score. Tomorrow on the pitch, our plans will be put to the test.”
The upcoming game is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium in Ndola.
