Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commended the Black Queens for their impressive performances in recent matches.
During his State of the Nation Address, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the Black Queens’ consistent performance despite not receiving as much attention as the Black Stars.
He mentioned their ten-match unbeaten streak, which was only broken in December by Namibia in the final qualifying round for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The President urged Ghanaians to support the Black Queens in their upcoming match against Zambia, emphasizing the importance of unity and encouragement for the team.
Despite a narrow defeat in the first leg of the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games against Zambia, President Akufo-Addo expressed hope for a positive outcome in the second leg.
The Black Queens are tasked with overturning a 1-0 deficit against Zambia to progress to the final round of qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
