Brooklyn Horan and Tyson Jemmett were competing in the rally when their car skidded off the gravel road and plunged into a river swollen with rain, resulting in their tragic death at the scene.

MotorSport New Zealand has confirmed that Horan was driving the car at the time of the crash, despite the legal driving age in New Zealand being 16.
