A popular rapper known as Bigidagoe, who had recently committed to turning his life around and focusing on his music career, was tragically shot dead in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Authorities in Amsterdam are now searching for a black man wearing dark clothing in connection with the death of the 26-year-old artist.
The fatal shooting occurred at a business park in Amsterdam’s Sloterdijk district early on Sunday morning.
Despite attempting to escape in his Volkswagen Polo, Silos succumbed to his injuries later that same day.
Known to have a troubled past, Silos, also a member of hip-hop group Zone 6, was scheduled to appear in court next month on charges of threatening and kidnapping.
He was linked to an incident in September 2022 involving the assault and threats towards a rival rapper, Kobus L, resulting in a trial for nine suspects.
The group is accused of engaging in violent acts against Kobus L, including physical harm and menacing with firearms.
In a similar incident in August 2020, Silos was targeted in an alleged assassination attempt.
Despite his efforts to distance himself from his criminal past and focus on music, Silos continued to face challenges, including attacks on his family.
A spokesperson for Amsterdam Police confirmed an ongoing investigation into the shooting and urged witnesses to come forward.
Expressing shock and grief over the tragic incident, a lawyer representing Silos’ family stated, “They are shocked by what happened.”
In the days leading up to his untimely death, Silos posted pictures of himself interacting with wildlife and sharing inspirational messages on social media.
Unfortunately, his final post, “You gotta enjoy life. Tomorrow is not promised,” serves as a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability.
Devastated fans have taken to social media to express their sorrow and pay tribute to the late rapper.
As the investigation into the shooting continues, the music community mourns the loss of a talented artist who aspired to make a positive change in his life.
