LA Galaxy general manager is delighted to sign Joseph Paintsil at his prime

LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz has expressed his excitement at acquiring Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil at the peak of his career for Major League Soccer Club.

The club made the announcement of their signing of the Black Stars forward from Belgium Pro League side Genk on a four-year deal on Wednesday night.

Following the unveiling of Paintsil, Kuntz expressed his enthusiasm at adding a player who has been a crucial figure for his clubs and national team in recent years.

“Joseph has been a key member of one of the best clubs in Belgium’s top flight and one of Africa’s most prominent national teams over the past few years and we are thrilled to announce that he is joining the LA Galaxy,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz.

“We are looking forward to adding such a dynamic attacker in the prime of his career to our group and for him to be a key figure in our pursuit of our next trophies.”

Paintsil boasts an impressive record of 61 goals and 35 assists in 228 matches played in Europe with K.R.C. Genk (2019-23), MKE Ankaragücü (2020-21), and Ferencvárosi TC (2017-18).

In the 2022-23 campaign, Paintsil contributed to 32 goals (18 goals, 14 assists) in 39 matches across all competitions for Genk.

Notably, during the 2022-23 Belgian Pro League season, Paintsil recorded 28 goal contributions (14 goals, 14 assists) in 30 league appearances (28 starts), playing a key role in helping Genk qualify for the 2023-24 Europa Conference League.
