Good coach will solve some Black Stars management issues – Mahama Ayariga

The appointment of a new coach for the Black Stars could potentially address some of the management issues within the team, according to former Minister for Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga.

Ayariga, who is the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, expressed his belief that a good coach would be able to resist any attempts by management committee members to impose a player on him.

The issue of officials interfering in player selection has been a long-standing concern within the Black Stars team.

In an interview with GhanaWeb in Parliament, Ayariga stated, “When you get a good coach, that coach can deal with some of the management issues. What are the management issues?

“All these allegations that management is interfering in the choice of footballers to play, people are lobbying and directing the coach and etcetera.”

Following Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, head coach Chris Hughton was sacked, leaving the Black Stars without a coach once again.
