Reports from the local media have revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have not visited the Black Queens, the women’s national football team, as they prepare for the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifier.
The team is gearing up to face Zambia on February 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Queens and their technical team are reportedly feeling disrespected due to unpaid bonuses they earned after qualifying for the 2024 Women’s AFCON, which is set to be held in Morocco.
This issue led to a meeting among the players on February 20, held at 11 pm.
Despite the financial concerns, the team has opened camp on Sunday and has been training rigorously for the upcoming match against Zambia, a team that participated in the 2023 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia but did not make it past the early stages of the tournament.
The return leg is scheduled for February 28 in Zambia.
