The 2024 Africa Zone 3 IHF Male U-18 and U-20 Championship had its grand opening ceremony at the Borteyman Sports Complex on Tuesday, 20th.
The event saw the participation of Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria.
This year marks the third time that Ghana has hosted the championship, with the previous edition taking place at the Accra Sports Stadium. President of the Ghana Handball Association, Nii Lante Bannerman, expressed his delight in hosting the participating countries once again and extended his gratitude to the Sports Ministry for providing the opportunity to use the sports complex.
The Borteyman Sports Complex is set to be one of nine venues that will host the 2023 African Games.
The opening ceremony was celebrated with vibrant colors and enthusiasm, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the participating nations.
This year’s championship promises to be an exciting and competitive event, with Ghana proud to play host to the talented young athletes from across the continent.
