Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), believes that the Elite Football Academy system introduced by his administration is a critical component in the development of talent in the country.
He emphasizes that the GFA Elite Football Academy system is designed to identify and nurture talent from all regions of the country, with the goal of producing players who will be assets for the various national teams.
“The foremost GFA elite football academy will provide carefully selected kids with the opportunity to be trained according to our DNA and to become national heroes,” Kurt Okraku said.
He added, “We have already invested in our first academy in the upper east, and in the next few weeks, the second pilot will be happening in the Ashanti region. The vision is to establish GFA-owned elite academies in each of the ten football regions in the country.”
Furthermore, Kurt Okraku highlighted that the young talents will not only receive football training, but will also attend school, with well-trained instructors provided by FIFA. He expressed optimism about the impact these academies will have on individual clubs and national teams across the country.
