Prince Harry recently revealed in an interview on ABC News that he rushed to London to see King Charles as soon as he could after learning of his father’s cancer diagnosis.
He expressed gratitude for the brief time they spent together, but declined to comment on the King’s condition, saying it was a private matter. The Duke of Sussex also admitted to considering US citizenship but stated that it was not a priority at the moment.
During the interview, Prince Harry also shared his thoughts on family unity during times of illness, acknowledging that it brings families closer together. He expressed his love for his family and mentioned that he would make more visits to the UK to see them.
Speaking about his life in California, Prince Harry touched on the joy of living there with his wife Meghan and their children, and mentioned that their sense of humor keeps them grounded. However, he refrained from confirming if he felt American or if he was considering becoming a US citizen.
In the wake of the King’s health concerns, Prince Charles has stepped back from public-facing duties, with other senior royals taking on some events. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan also relaunched their foundation website, now named the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The couple recently visited the training camp for the 2025 Invictus Games in Whistler, British Columbia, with Prince Harry participating in a sit-ski event. As for the royal family back in the UK, Prince Charles will be attending the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) film awards in London, while Prince William, president of Bafta, is resuming royal engagements after his father’s diagnosis and his wife’s recent operation.
The Princess of Wales, Meghan Markle, underwent abdominal surgery on January 16 and has since returned home. It has been reported that Royal Family tensions are more pronounced between Prince William and Prince Harry than they are with their father, King Charles.
