The chairman of the National Sports Authority, Seth Panwum, has called for the dissolution of the Black Stars Management Committee following their failure at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.
Panwum believes that the current committee, made up of individuals running clubs, did not do their best in pressing the players to offer their best performance. He suggested that going forward, the committee should be made up of ordinary people, not those with personal interests in calling up players.
He pointed out that during George Amoako’s tenure, the committee was reshuffled, and he believes the same should be done now to ensure that only individuals with the best interest of the national team are involved.
Despite the recent dissolution of the technical team of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football Association, no action has been taken on the Black Stars Management Committee. This has caused pressure and uncertainty regarding whether the GFA will dissolve the committee as well.
It remains to be seen what action the Ghana Football Association will take in response to Seth Panwum’s call for the dissolution of the Black Stars Management Committee.
