LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney is eager to integrate Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil into the club’s squad following his recent transfer from KRC Genk to the Major League Soccer club.
Vanney highlighted Paintsil’s potential to have a significant impact on games, applauding his dynamic playing style both on and off the ball. As the 2024 season kicks off, Paintsil’s addition is seen as crucial to LA Galaxy’s ambitions.
“We are delighted to bring a player of Joseph’s caliber to the LA Galaxy,” said Greg Vanney. “Joseph is a dynamic winger who has the ability to change games in an instant. We are looking forward to integrating him into our team quickly.”
Paintsil has signed a four-year contract with LA Galaxy, bringing with him an impressive track record in Europe, having played for K.R.C. Genk (2019-23), MKE Ankaragücü (2020-21), and Ferencvárosi TC (2017-18). He has accumulated 61 goals and 35 assists in 228 matches.
During the 2022-23 season, Paintsil excelled, contributing 32 goals (18 goals, 14 assists) in 39 matches for Genk.
His standout performance in the 2022-23 Belgian Pro League season, where he recorded 28 goal contributions (14 goals, 14 assists) in 30 league appearances, played a crucial role in Genk’s qualification for the 2023-24 Europa Conference League.
