Desmond Ofei, the Head Coach of Ghana’s National U-20 Male team, the Black Satellites, is gearing up for the upcoming challenge as he shares his thoughts on the team’s prospects.
Group A presents a tough test for the Black Satellites as they are set to face strong opponents such as Benin, Congo, and the Gambia. The fate of the team in the prestigious tournament, scheduled to take place in Accra from March 8-23, 2023, was determined during the draw event in Abidjan on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
As the mastermind behind Ghana’s strategy, Coach Ofei acknowledges the importance of preparing his team to overcome the challenges posed by their Group A adversaries.
“We are putting in a lot of effort ahead of the tournament, so we were not overly concerned with the draw because I am confident that we will be ready to face whoever we come up against,” Coach Ofei commented after Thursday’s draw.
“You cannot afford to underestimate any team. It’s going to be a tough challenge, but a country like Ghana should not fear any opponent,” he added.
