The J.A Kufuor Cup, set to take place on February 18, 2024, has received the support of former Ghana international Stephen Appiah.
As the ambassador for the event, the former Juventus star has pledged his commitment to ensuring the success of the upcoming clash.
The match will feature Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Stadium as they compete for the coveted trophy.
In a recent audio broadcast on Kessben FM and monitored by Footballghana.com, Appiah expressed his gratitude to former President J.A Kufuor for his unwavering support during his tenure as captain of the Black Stars.
Appiah has made it his mission to show his appreciation and repay the former Ghana leader for his support during his playing days.
“We all know who J.A Kufuor is, when I was the captain of the national team, he was the president. He showed us so much love and respect so anything that he does in terms of football or in any field and I’m called to support, I can’t say no because he has been there for some of us. I’m happy to be the ambassador for J.A Kufuor Cup” he said.
Appiah notably played a significant role in the Black Stars’ historic first-ever World Cup qualification in 2006.
