The Ministry of Youth and Sports has settled the outstanding per diems owed the Black Queens national team in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games qualifying match against Zambia. The team has drawn significant attention following unpaid bonuses from the last three qualifiers.
Earlier reports suggested that the team was considering boycotting the upcoming qualifier due to the extended outstanding payments. However, prompt action from the Sports Ministry, with the support of the Ghana Football Association President and the Chairperson of the Black Queens Management Committee, led to a resolution of the issue.
The owed per diems have been cleared, and the remaining unsettled bonuses are expected to be paid within the coming hours. The national team is now set to face Zambia in the first leg of the Olympic qualifier on Friday, February 23, with the return fixture scheduled for five days later.
