Social commentator, Kwame A Plus, has brought to light the grievances of some Ghanaian players towards the Ghana Football Association.
According to A Plus, there is dissatisfaction among some players regarding the selection process, with claims that some undeserving players have been included in the team.
The Gomoa Central Constituency Independent Parliamentary candidate went further to allege that goalkeeper Richard Ofori’s error against Mozambique was due to his pre-existing anger before the game.
In an interview with Asempa FM, A Plus emphasized that addressing the underlying issues within the Ghana Football Association is crucial in resolving the challenges facing Ghanaian football.
“The root of the problem does not lie with the players, but rather with the Ghana Football Association, which needs to be overhauled. The continuous dismissal of coaches by the Association has created an unstable environment, leading to incidents such as Sulley Muntari’s altercation with an official,” A Plus explained
“Furthermore, there is internal discontent among the players, as some of them believe that certain individuals in the team do not merit their positions,” he added.
A Plus’s comments come in the wake of Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where the Black Stars suffered an early exit at the group stage of the tournament.
