Ghanaian football legend Michael Essien has made a trip to Ivory Coast to visit Brighton & Hove Albion forward Simon Adingra.
Adingra, who is 22 years old, recently participated in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament as a member of the Ivory Coast squad.
During the final match of the tournament in Abidjan, the young forward played a crucial role for the Elephants by assisting in two goals, ultimately leading his country to a 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Following Adingra’s success, Michael Essien traveled to Bondoukou, the hometown of the winger, in order to celebrate with him and his family.
Shortly after Ivory Coast emerged victorious in the 2023 AFCON, Essien took to social media to extend his congratulations to Adingra, showcasing his pride in the young player’s accomplishments.
