Leicester City’s Fatawu Issahaku has been impressing fans with his dazzling performances since joining the club in August last year, but manager Enzo Maresca sees even more potential for growth.
The 19-year-old winger recently showcased his talent by scoring a crucial goal with a stunning left-footed strike from long range against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, helping Leicester secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
After the match, Maresca jokingly commented on Fatawu’s previous shooting struggles, saying, “Fatawu has had about 25 shots since joining Leicester, and I’m used to seeing them go into the stands. I’m happy this one found the back of the net, but I hope we won’t have to wait another 25 shots for his next goal because that would be too long.”
Despite facing criticism in the past for his inconsistent accuracy, Fatawu has shown improvement according to Maresca. However, the manager still believes there is room for further development in his shooting skills.
So far this season, the talented Ghanaian has contributed four goals and nine assists for Leicester City.
