Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah has started his pre-season preparations with the New England Revolution.
Following his departure from the San Jose Earthquakes at the end of the previous season, the 33-year-old defender, who has had a successful career with various MLS teams, wasted no time in integrating himself into the Eastern Conference team.
As part of their training, New England Revolution took on reigning Supporters’ Shield champions FC Cincinnati in a modified 120-minute game at IMG Academy.
The game, which took place on Thursday, was split into four 30-minute periods, allowing most players to get a solid 60 minutes of game time, with a short halftime break at the 30-minute mark.
After spending twelve days in Florida and nearly three weeks into their pre-season training, the Revolution players and staff are taking a well-deserved four-day break to rest and recharge.
The team will regroup in Florida on Monday night and resume training on Tuesday following the break.
Revolution is set to face Independiente de La Chorrera in the CONCACAF Champions League on February 22nd, 2024.
