Antoine Semenyo of AFC Bournemouth has described his team’s point as a “great point” following their 2-2 draw with Newcastle United Football Club.
Despite conceding a late equalizer in the 92nd minute by Matt Ritchie, Semenyo chose to focus on the positives from the game.
He was the one who put his team ahead 2-1 in the 69th minute after Dominic Solanke had opened the scoring earlier in the game.
This goal was particularly special as it marked Semenyo’s first since returning to Bournemouth after representing the Ghanaian national team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Speaking to fans after the match, the 24-year-old player highlighted the team’s resilience, stating, “It’s Antoine here, great point. The Boys did well, unfortunate with the result but we take the point.”
So far this season, Semenyo has scored four goals and provided two assists in 20 English Premier League appearances.
Looking ahead, Semenyo will be aiming to maintain his impressive performance when they take on defending champions Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
