Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an update on the injury status of Ghanaian star Thomas Partey.
Partey, who recently returned to training after being out for almost three months, has suffered a minor setback, further delaying his anticipated return to the pitch.
The Black Stars midfielder has been sidelined since October 24, 2023, due to a persistent muscle injury.
According to Arteta, Partey is making progress in his recovery, but it is still uncertain when he will be able to make a comeback.
Speaking ahead of the match against West Ham United, Arteta said, “He’s progressing really well… but it’s too soon to tell when he will be back.”
This recent setback comes after Partey missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Ivory Coast, marking the first time he has not participated in the tournament since his debut in 2016.
He had previously played in three consecutive AFCON tournaments, in 2017, 2019, and 2021.
