Ernesto Valverde, head coach of Athletic Club, has praised Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams for his work rate and contribution to the team.
Following Athletic Club’s 3-2 victory over Girona in a crucial La Liga match, Valverde commended Williams for his intense runs during games.
He acknowledged that Williams makes more intense runs than their opponents, but also understands that these efforts cannot be sustained throughout the entire game.
Valverde emphasized the importance of Williams’ work rate, stating, “Strikers are valued for their goals and he has scored today. We are happy but overall, his work is always valuable to us.”
Williams, who scored his ninth league goal of the season in the match, is nearing a significant milestone of 100 goals for Bilbao.
His impressive performance has been pivotal in propelling Athletic Club to fifth place in the La Liga standings, just two points behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid.
