Hearts of Oak, a Ghana Premier League side, has announced that they will be playing their home games at the WAFA Park in Sogakope for the second round of the 2023/24 season.

This decision comes as a result of the unavailability of the Accra Sports Stadium, which typically serves as their home grounds. The Accra Sports Stadium will be used as one of the venues for the 13th African Games, which Ghana will be hosting.

With the Ghana Premier League campaign on a break after the first round came to an end, Hearts of Oak has made plans to have the WAFA Park serve as their temporary home grounds for the upcoming matches.

The league’s attention was taken away from the domestic league and focused on the Black Stars during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, which just concluded last Sunday. Now, with the continental showpiece over, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed that the league will resume on February 24.

In the first matchday of the second round, league leaders Samartex FC will travel to Dormaa to take on Aduana Stars. Asante Kotoko will also make the trip to Kpando to face off with Heart of Lions. Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will take on Real Tamale United, and Accra Lions will host Medeama Sporting Club.

Football fans can look forward to an exciting second round of the Ghana Premier League, with Hearts of Oak making a temporary move to the WAFA Park in Sogakope for their home games.
