Heart of Lions president Randy Abbey has credited his team’s determination and hunger for their recent Ghana Premier League victory over Asante Kotoko.

In a thrilling match at the Kpando Stadium, the top flight returnees secured a 1-0 win over the Porcupine Warriors to kick start the second round of the league with a bang.

Reflecting on the game, the Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member praised the high quality of football showcased by both teams.

“It was a tough match with both sides clearly showing their desire to win,” Abbey shared in an interview with Max TV. “But we were the hungrier and superior team on the day.”

Under the leadership of coach Bashir Hayford, Heart of Lions have achieved three wins in their last four games, a significant improvement from their slow start to the season.

Despite climbing out of the league’s bottom position for the first time in weeks, the team remains in the relegation zone, trailing two points behind the safety zone.
