Kwasi Appiah, a Member of the Interim Management Committee of Asante Kotoko, has emphasized the importance of avoiding complacency as the team heads into the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
This weekend, Asante Kotoko, currently in third place, will face off against Heart of Lions, who are at the bottom of the table, at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
Appiah stated, “We had a rocky start to the season, but we have learned from our mistakes and will not allow complacency to set in.
“Our focus is on giving our all in the second round. While I won’t make any bold claims about winning the title, we will certainly push for it.
“Whether or not we clinch the title, our primary goal, as indicated by Otumfuo, is to build a strong team for the future.”
Asante Kotoko had an impressive seven-game unbeaten run leading up to the break after the first round of matches.
With 29 points, Asante Kotoko sits behind league leaders FC Samartex by three points. FC Samartex will face Aduana FC away this coming Monday.
