New England Revolution has officially welcomed Ghanaian international Jonathan Mensah ahead of the upcoming Major League Soccer season.
The former Black Stars defender recently made the move to the club after leaving San Jose Earthquake.
Mensah, who joined the club as a free agent, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming season, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his seven seasons in the MLS. He has signed a one-year contract for the 2024 MLS season with an additional one-year option for 2025.

At 33 years old, Mensah has established himself in the MLS since 2017, having previously played for Columbus Crew, San Jose Earthquake, and now with New England Revolution. He played a crucial role in Columbus Crew’s MLS title win and was also recognized in the MLS Best XI. He was named the Crew’s defender of the Year three consecutive times from 2018-2020.
Prior to joining New England Revolution, Mensah played 26 games for San Jose Earthquake, with 21 starts, helping them reach the postseason. His experience and leadership are expected to bring significant value to his new team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
