Emmanuel Boateng, the Ghanaian international, expressed his delight after playing a key role in Rio Ave’s 1-1 draw with Estoril. The former Levante player put in a full 90-minute effort during the week 19 match of the league.
After the game, Boateng took to X, previously known as Twitter, to share his joy, writing “Alhamdulillah 🦁🦁🙏🏿🙏🏿🤲🤲🔥🔥”
The 27-year-old forward made his mark in the 56th minute by putting Rio Ave in the lead with a well-taken goal off a free-kick rebound. However, Estoril managed to equalize with just five minutes left in the game thanks to a strike from Portuguese forward Heriberto Tavares.
Despite Boateng’s goal, Rio Ave was unable to secure maximum points in what was a fiercely contested match on Wednesday night. Another Ghanaian player, Abdul Aziz Yakubu, who recently returned from loan at Wuhan Three Towns in China, also featured for Rio Ave and put in an 82-minute shift.
