Ernest Poku, a Dutch-born Ghanaian, demonstrated his skills by scoring for Jong AZ Alkmaar in their recent Eerste Divisie match against FC Groningen.
Poku’s goal came in the 14th minute when teammate Kees Smit delivered a pass to him on the left wing.
Poku then showcased his individual ability by dribbling past two defenders and slotting the ball into the far corner of the net.
However, Jong AZ was unable to maintain their lead, as FC Groningen’s Johan Hove equalized in the 22nd minute with a goal at the far post from a cross.
Groningen then took the lead in the 27th minute after a handball, with Romano Postema converting the penalty.
Despite Jong AZ’s efforts to find an equalizer in the second half, it was FC Groningen who extended their lead with another goal from Postema in the 61st minute.
The Pride of the North added a fourth goal in the 70th minute through Thomas van Bergen, securing a 4-1 victory.
