Aaron Seydel, a German-born Ghanaian forward, has made a stunning comeback for SV Darmstadt 98 after being sidelined for two months due to a calf muscle injury.
Initially placed on the bench at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor, Seydel was called upon as a substitute for Luca Pfeiffer in the 74th minute with Darmstadt trailing. His entry injected fresh energy into the squad.
With time running out and hopes diminishing, Seydel seized the moment and scored Darmstadt’s lone goal, giving fans a glimmer of hope.
Despite Seydel’s heroic efforts, Darmstadt fell short in their attempt to equalize against a resilient Stuttgart side.
Stuttgart took the lead early on with Serhou Guirassy’s header in the 14th minute, and later sealed a 2-1 victory with Mahmoud Dahoud’s late strike in the 90+2 minute.
In the Bundesliga this season, Aaron Seydel has made seven appearances and scored one goal.
