Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei expresses joy after Lorient’s impressive victory over Stade Rennais in the French Ligue 1.
Adjei, who is 21 years old, played the full 90 minutes as Lorient pulled off a surprising 2-1 win against Rennais in week 24 of the top division on Sunday.
He put on a solid performance in defense as Lorient secured a crucial win at the Roazhon Park in their ongoing battle against relegation.
The first half of the match ended in a thrilling goalless draw, with both teams struggling to find the back of the net.
Lorient broke the deadlock in the 59th minute through Mohamed Bamba, and Elie Kroupi sealed the victory for the visitors in stoppage time.
However, Rennais managed to score a consolation goal in injury time through Amine Gouiri.
Following the game, the on-loan Hammarby defender took to social media to celebrate his team’s win over Rennais.
“Huge 3 points yesterday, fans were class” he shared on Instagram.
Nathaniel Adjei joined Lorient in the January transfer window and has quickly become a key player for the team.
In the six games he has played for the club so far, the 21-year-old has impressed with four wins, one draw, and one defeat.
His loan deal is set to end in the summer.
