On Tuesday night, Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana made an appearance for Southampton in their English Championship game against Bristol City.

The young forward, however, did not start the game but was brought on in the 74th minute to replace Joe Rothwell.

At that point, Southampton was already trailing by two goals and struggled to turn the match around.

Despite Sulemana’s presence, Southampton was only able to score a late consolation goal through a penalty converted by Adam Armstrong.

Bristol City claimed a well-deserved victory at home with goals from Samuel Bell, Robert Dickie, and Harry Cornick.

It was Southampton’s first defeat since September 2023, and it comes as a major setback in their bid for promotion to the English Premier League.

The Saints will now look to bounce back in their next fixture against West Brom next weekend.
