The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that they will not be hiring Hervé Renard as the national team coach due to financial reasons.
Rumors had been circulating that Renard, who has previously coached several national teams including Ivory Coast and Morocco, was in the running for the position. However, according to GFA spokesperson, the association cannot afford to meet his wage demands.
“As much as we would have liked to have Hervé Renard as our coach, we simply cannot justify the cost of his wages,” the spokesperson stated. “Our budget simply does not allow for it at this time.”
The decision has sparked some debate among fans and analysts, with some questioning the GFA’s financial management and others understanding the constraints of the budget.
“It’s disappointing to miss out on a coach of Renard’s caliber, but we have to understand the financial realities that the GFA is dealing with,” one fan commented.
The GFA has assured the public that they are actively searching for a suitable candidate within their financial means and are committed to selecting the best coach for the national team.
