Former Ghana Premier League star Esme Mends has taken on a new role as Club Licensing Manager and administrative assistant to the National Teams Department, signifying a significant shift in his post-football career.
Mends, known for his impressive 12-year career, has stepped into this position following the departure of Julius Ben Emunah, who has moved to lead the Competitions Department.
With a successful history in the Ghana Premier League, Mends played a crucial role in Hearts of Oak’s league title win in 2009, a significant achievement in his career that also saw him play for Real Sportive in Tema.
Expanding his horizons beyond Ghanaian football, Mends also played in Oman and South Africa before retiring in 2016.
Alongside his playing career, Mends has been dedicated to his academic pursuits and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching at the University of Education in Winneba.
