Ghanaian footballer Maxwell Baakoh has made a big move, completing a transfer to Algerian club MC Oran from USM Khenchela, for a record fee of 300,000 euros. The forward, who previously played for Asante Kotoko SC, caught the attention of MC Oran with his impressive performances in the Algerian Ligue 1.
Since joining USM Khenchela in the 2022/2023 season, Baakoh, who is 28 years old, has scored four goals in 11 appearances. His new contract with MC Oran will see him become one of the highest-paid players in Algeria, with a monthly salary of 20,000 euros.
Baakoh’s versatility as a second striker, central attacking midfielder, and winger makes him a valuable addition to MC Oran. The club is hoping that his presence will help them climb out of the relegation zone in the second half of the league. Currently, MC Oran holds 9 points in 14 matches.
Before moving to MC Oran, Baakoh also played for Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League and Sahab Club in Jordan after leaving Asante Kotoko. His football journey has taken him to different countries, and he is now ready to make his mark in Algeria.
