FC Koln, the German Bundesliga team, has begun its new training week without young Ghanaian talent, Justin Diehl, who has been absent due to illness.
Diehl was unable to play in the last Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt due to his illness.
The club confirmed in an official statement that Diehl will be kept away from training at the beginning of the week to focus on his recovery.
His absence in the recent game against Eintracht Frankfurt was felt, and his continued absence from training adds uncertainty to the team’s preparation for the upcoming game against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday.
The 19-year-old offensive player showed his skills in FC Köln’s recent draw against Wolfsburg on January 27th.
During the game against Wolfsburg, Faride Alidou scored the first goal for FC Koln with a header from the center of the box to the top left corner in the 38th minute.
Justin Diehl came on in the 76th minute to replace Dejan Ljubicic.
Kevin Paredes scored the equalizer with a left-footed shot from very close range in the center of the goal, assisted by Joakim Mæhle.
