The English Men’s National Football team has set their sights on talented midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who has roots in Ghana.
At just 18 years old, Mainoo, who currently plays for Manchester United, has captured the attention of England Manager Gareth Southgate and his team, who are considering calling him up for upcoming friendly matches.
Expert football transfer reports have indicated that Mainoo’s impressive performances have piqued the interest of the English camp. There is serious consideration for his inclusion in the squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium in March.
As England prepares for the Euros, having secured qualification for the tournament, they are gearing up to face Serbia, Denmark, and Slovenia in Group C after their heartbreaking loss to Italy in the 2020 Euros final.
Mainoo’s outstanding displays for Manchester United this season, including a memorable winning goal against Wolves in the English Premier League, have only improved his prospects. His debut goal for The Red Devils in a 4-2 FA Cup victory over Newport County has also further solidified his growing reputation.
Although Mainoo has represented England at youth levels, he remains eligible to play for Ghana, a fact that has caught the attention of Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Dr Randy Abbey.
Dr. Abbey has expressed the GFA’s interest in potentially collaborating with the talented midfielder in the future.
