Coupe de France: Ghana youngster Ernest Nuamah features to help Lyon to beat Lille 2-1

Ernest Nuamah, a Ghana international, played a crucial role in Olympique Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Lille in the French Cup on Wednesday night.

Although he did not start the game, Nuamah was brought on in the 64^th minute to replace Rayan Cherki and made an impact with his performance.

Lyon took the lead in the 40^th minute with a goal from Gift Orban, which they held onto going into halftime.

In the second half, Rayan Cherki extended Lyon’s lead with a goal in the 47^th minute, but Lille managed to pull one back when Alexsandro Ribeiro scored in the 53^rd minute.

Despite Lille’s efforts, Lyon held on to secure a 2-1 victory, booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the French Cup for the current season.
