Charlton Athletic midfielder, Freda Ayisi, is on a mission to help the Black Queens of Ghana secure a spot in the Olympic Games. The senior female national team is seeking their first-ever qualification to the Olympics and will face a tough test against Zambia in the final eliminator.
The Ghanaian team will host the Copper Queens at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday for the first leg of the crucial encounter before traveling for the return fixture in Lusaka, Zambia.
Ayisi, who arrived in Ghana on Monday, joined her teammates for training on Tuesday as they intensify preparations for the upcoming game against Zambia.
Speaking after training, Ayisi expressed her excitement to be back with the team and emphasized the importance of taking each game as it comes in their quest for Olympic qualification.
“The main focus is to take each game at a time and hopefully qualify for the Olympics,” she said. “This Friday is an important game and we need the energy from the crowd. Just make sure you come show some love to all of us.”
With the determination and focus demonstrated by Ayisi and her teammates, the Black Queens are gearing up for an intense battle against Zambia as they aim to make history by securing their first-ever Olympic qualification.
