Former Black Stars winger Nana Ampomah has made a move to Canadian champions Forge FC, signing a multi-year contract with the club after leaving German Bundesliga 2 team Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian attacker is expected to play a vital role for the Hamilton-based club as they aim to make an impact in the upcoming campaign, including in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Forge head coach Bobby Smyrniotis expressed his excitement about Ampomah’s signing, saying, “We are excited to have a player as experienced as Nana join the club. He is an explosive attacker who has played and contributed across Europe’s top leagues and competitions. His presence on the pitch and ability to generate offense adds a unique dimension to our attack that will surely make an immediate impact.”
Prior to joining Forge FC, Ampomah also had stints with Belgian side Waasland-Beveren.
