Caf Champions League: Al Ahly beat Medeama SC in Ghana to stay top of group D standings

Al Ahly, the Egyptian giants, exhibited great resilience and quality as they secured a hard-fought victory against Ghanaian side Medeama SC on Friday evening.

The two teams clashed in a Group D Round 5 match of the CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Medeama SC came into the game with a strong determination to climb up the group standings and put up a tough fight against their opponents.

Despite their efforts, the Ghanaian champions made several mistakes that hindered their performance and prevented them from creating any significant threats.

Throughout the first half, both teams battled fiercely but failed to find the back of the net, heading into halftime on level terms.

It was three minutes into the second half when Hussein El Shahat scored to give Al Ahly the lead.

Medeama SC tried to stage a comeback but were unable to equalize, ultimately falling to a narrow defeat after 90 minutes of play.

With this result, Medeama SC now finds themselves at the bottom of the Group D standings, facing the possibility of elimination from the CAF Champions League this season.
