Andoni Iraola, the manager of Bournemouth, has praised Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo for his performance in the team’s recent match against Newcastle United.
Semenyo found the back of the net in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle in the English Premier League last Saturday.
With 20 minutes left in the game, Semenyo scored a beautiful goal, bringing Bournemouth close to securing a victory at St James’ Park.
Unfortunately, the Magpies managed to equalize through Matt Richie in the dying minutes of the game, ultimately securing a point for their team.
During the match, Dominic Solanke had given Bournemouth the lead in the 51st minute, but Newcastle’s Antony Gordon equalized seven minutes later from the penalty spot.
When asked about the missed first-half chances, Iraola acknowledged that there were missed opportunities and then went on to commend the quality of his players.
He particularly highlighted the efforts of Dom (Solanke), Ant (Semenyo), Tav (Marcus Tavernier), and Justin (Kluivert), emphasizing their energy and belief throughout the game.
Iraola expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising their personality and resilience on the field.
So far this season, Semenyo has scored four goals in 20 league games for Bournemouth.
