The coach of Ghana’s Black Queens, Nora Hauptle, is ramping up preparations for the crucial Olympic Qualifier against Zambia later this month. Hauptle has been strategically scouting midfielder Jacqueline Owusu to ensure the team is fully prepared for the upcoming matches.
During a recent trip to Spain, Hauptle closely observed Owusu’s performance in the Copa de la Reina. Owusu, who plays for Real Sociedad, showcased her prowess by lasting the entire match against FC Levante UD. Real Sociedad emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, progressing to the next round of the competition on a 2-1 aggregate score.
Hauptle has already led the Black Queens to qualify for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Now, she is focusing on guiding the team to the next round in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifiers.
Ghana will face Zambia in a two-legged encounter, with the 1st leg set for Friday, February 23 in Kumasi. The 2nd leg will take place on Wednesday, February 28 in Ndola, Zambia. With these crucial matches on the horizon, Hauptle is leaving no stone unturned in her efforts to ensure the Black Queens are fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
