The owner of Karela United, Haruna Iddrisu, has disclosed that Asante Kotoko has raised concerns about their match being hosted at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.
According to the Porcupine Warriors, the newly built facility does not meet the required standards for hosting a game.
Karela United had to relocate their matches to the venue in the North East Region due to the poor condition of the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, which is unable to host games.
During a session in parliament, the Tamale South MP addressed the deplorable state of the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Expressing dismay over the state of the pitch at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Haruna Iddrisu mentioned that he is now compelled to personally cover the costs of watering the pitch.
“I am currently struggling to secure a stadium for training and match purposes. This weekend, I have a game against Asante Kotoko. I have relocated the match to Nalerigu, however, they have already raised concerns about the pitch’s quality,” Haruna Iddrisu lamented.
“At present, Mr. Speaker, I am the one responsible for watering the pitch due to its poor state. I urgently require a suitable stadium for my matches, but unfortunately, I do not have one,” he added.
