Antoine Semenyo, the Ghanaian forward, showcased his skill and agility as he played a crucial role in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
The game started with a goalless first half, but Dominic Solanke broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Martin Dubravka from Newcastle.
However, the lead was short-lived as Anthony Gordon controversially converted a penalty to level the score just seven minutes later.
With just eight minutes left on the clock, Semenyo scored a stunning goal from outside the penalty area, seemingly securing a victory for Bournemouth. However, former Bournemouth player Matt Ritchie scored the equalizer in the 85th minute, ending the game in a draw.
Despite the draw, Bournemouth managed to move nine points clear of the relegation zone, while Newcastle held on to their seventh place position in the table.
Semenyo, who recently represented Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has made 22 appearances for Bournemouth this season, scoring four goals in the process.
