Ghanaian football star Andre Ayew has won the award for the best goal of the month in the French Ligue 1.
Ayew made a stunning return to club football by scoring a remarkable bicycle kick when Le Havre played against Lorient in the Ligue 1 last month, resulting in a 3-3 draw.
After a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars, the experienced Ghanaian attacker scored two goals in a crucial match at the end of January to secure a point for his team.
The captain of the Black Stars came on as a substitute in the exciting encounter at the Stade du Moustoir – Yves Allainmat.
The former Swansea and Nottingham Forest star was brought into the game in the 70th minute and made a significant impact by scoring twice towards the end of the game, helping Le Havre secure a draw.
Initially, the visitors took the lead 15 minutes into the game through Emmanuel Sabbi, who scored from the penalty spot before Imran Louz equalized for Lorient. Both teams went into halftime with one goal each.
In the second half, Lorient took the lead through Ayman Kari in the 51st minute before André Ayew equalized for his side in the 85th minute.
Lorient then looked like they had clinched victory after Mohamed Bamba scored in the 92nd minute. However, the Ghanaian international once again stepped up to equalize in the 94th minute, securing a draw for the visitors.
