Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu looks forward to new challenges after completing a move to French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais.
The 23-year-old, who can play in multiple positions, has sealed a switch from Clermont Foot in a deal worth around €11 million.
Following his return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he had limited playing time, Seidu has passed all medical checks and signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Stade Rennais until 2028.
Speaking about his move, Seidu said, “Stade Rennais is a great club and it’s a great privilege for me. I had a great time at Clermont, they gave me everything and welcomed me like a member of the family. I became a man there, and the adventure continues at Rennes and I’m very happy about that.
“I’m a player who doesn’t like to lose, I’m a fighter, I give everything for my colleagues and I’m always looking to progress.”
He also expressed his excitement about linking up with his Ghanaian compatriots at the club, stating, “I’m very close to Kamaldeen Sulemana, and I get on very well with Christopher Wooh. The rest of the players I’ve met on Ligue 1 pitches, and I’m sure things will go well in the dressing room.”
